Help A Father Who Lost Job Due To a Fire

On Friday, September, 27 at approximately 2am my dad got a phone call that would change his life. He lost his job of 34 years, the warehouse had caught fire. The air compressors exploded overnight and cause the building to collapse. He committed and devoted his time every day to wake up early and commute from the Bronx all the way to Long Island. My dad’s never took a day off, he never stopped working even during the pandemic. My dad’s an amazing person to know him is to know he’s the nicest most friendliest person ever. He was there since the company first started, many of his coworkers see him as a father figure. We are all so thankful that he’s ok and he was at home when the explosion happened. However, it is taking a toll on his mental health. He was 29 years old when he started working there. It’s been his only source of income since arriving to this country Unfortunately, loosing this job means it will be a while before my dad can get back on his feet. Currently due to his situation he is not eligible for any type of assistance or any unemployment. My dad is also 63 years old and his job was all he knew.
