Help a Refugee Grandfather Recover from Scam

My father-in-law is an 80-year-old refugee from Vietnam who came to the United States 35 years ago. He worked hard to build a life for his family, always putting their needs first and saving every penny he could. Recently, he was targeted by a phone scammer who claimed to know him from Vietnam. Using personal information and threats, the scammer convinced him to hand over his entire life savings. The loss has left him devastated and ashamed, and it has deeply affected our entire family.

He and his wife live in Section 8 housing and have spent years scrimping and saving to provide for their future, including basic needs and an occasional small gift for a grandchild. Now, everything they worked for is gone. We do not blame him for what happened—these scammers are professional criminals who prey on vulnerable people. Our hope is to help him recover from this trauma and regain some stability.

The funds raised will go directly toward his basic living expenses, food, rent, and rebuilding the savings that were stolen from him. We are asking for just a small amount from each donor, knowing that every little bit will add up and make a difference. Your support means the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for any help you can provide.
