Hey! I am raising money for a good friend who has gone through some of the biggest life challenges I have ever come across.

I met her a few years ago as I was mentoring her through the Global Mentorship Initiative. Her dream was, and still is, to one day become a journalist to share inspiring stories like hers. She was a refugee living with her mum and brother. She had lost the rest of her family due to war.

We kept in touch after we finished the mentorship program, and a few months later she told me that she just lost her brother and mother also due to conflict.

With no family, no friends, no job, no savings and no house, she has been living in a refugee shelter for over a year now.

She had a physical disability that made it challenging for her to walk. Due to the precarious living conditions, her foot got infected badly, and luckily between the Global Mentorship Initiative and myself we managed to provide funding for several surgeries to rescue her foot.

In the midst of all of this, she has managed to find the courage to find an online job for a local startup which will allow her to get an income to become independent again. Her first goals are to get a room so she can leave the shelter and to pay for physhiotherapy sessions to be able to walk again, as she currently uses a walker.

In order for her to start this remote job, she needs around $250 to buy a cheap used laptop. I am raising £300 to send to her so that she can pay for the laptop and start having a chance again to rebuild her life.
