A, age 40, fled persecution, torture, and the threat of death in his home country. This week, he was granted asylum and released from Eloy Detention, AZ. You can read about his story here -
He speaks his indigenous language, French, and some English. He has a spouse and four children back in his home country.
Despite being granted full asylum by an immigration judge, ICE released him with not a shred of documentation. He does not have the judge's decision, nor any ICE documents to prove who he is or his asylum status. His passport was taken, along with all his belongings, when he was robbed on his journey to the U.S.
He has no sponsor nor family connection in the U.S. He needs a long-term or short-term place to stay until he gets his I-94 from USCIS and his SS#.
100% of all funds given will go to help A get housing, food, documentation, and employment so he can make the transition to his new refugee status. Thank you for anything you can give.
Because of ongoing security concerns and his lack of documentation, we are keeping his name, country of origin, and other identifying marks confidential. I have met him personally and attended his hearing and can vouch for the truth of this story. I keep records of all money donated and will be able to demonstrate that every penny reaches him.
