Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is Jess, and I’m a queer mom of two wonderful kids, trying to rebuild our lives after an incredibly difficult and unexpected turn of events.
My spouse recently left me abruptly after five years together, two of which I was a stay-at-home mother and wife at their request. Their mental health has been on a rapid decline following the loss of their mother and many other life altering events, and this has led to them lashing out at me in deeply personal ways—online, financially, and emotionally. This has left me and my children in an incredibly vulnerable position.
We were financially dependent on my spouse, and now, with no savings or joint bank account, I’m struggling to make ends meet. My son was recently diagnosed with Intellectual Disability Disorder (IDD), which has added additional challenges to our situation and has led to further social emotional struggles for him. I’ve just secured a CNA job, but the pay isn’t enough to cover our rent, utilities, food, gas, and other necessities.
To make matters worse, I’ve received a 10-day eviction notice from our property manager, who refuses to respond to my communications and only acknowledges my spouse. With the city I live in facing a severe housing crisis, we’re at risk of being homeless in the middle of winter and halfway through their school year.
I’ve exhausted every resource available to me, including agencies and local programs, but there’s little help to be found in time. I’m reaching out here as a last hope to keep a roof over my children’s heads and maintain some stability during this incredibly hard time.
Your support would go toward catching up on rent and utilities, covering food and gas expenses, and giving me the time I need to get back on my feet. Any amount you can give would make a world of difference. 1150 is currently needed to avoid an eviction but everything over that would help me be able to move out of this shared home and away from an increasingly volatile situation.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering helping us in this critical moment. Please share this campaign to help spread the word.
With gracious hopefulness,
Jess
