** Hachanasat Kalla Opportunity: Help a queer couple start a Jewish home!**
A couple from our queer Jewish community (a sephardic lesbian, and her nonbinary fianceé) is getting married next month!
They have been through a challenging journey to end up together as the strong and giving people that they are today.
Both were raised Orthodox, and are still proudly observant Jews. Unfortunately, their families are not supportive.
As a Jewish educator and a masters’ student, respectively, they are not in a position to cover all of the wedding expenses and other necessities.
They have given a lot to the community, and now we want be there for them. Some friends are organizing to help them with wedding and household expenses - we hope to cover the following:
- Chuppa
- Ketuba
- Kosher Catering/ food service for ~100
- Tailoring
- DJ or Band
- & any other wedding needs that may arise (the venue, photographer, and rabbi have already been arranged).
