Help a puppy save her leg!

From a healthy pup to a critical crisis in just minutes! Rosemary is a fun loving and energetic 11 month old labradoodle. Like a typical puppy, she loves to run and play and chase her balls and toys. She is a perfect companion and my best friend. She also loves to go for walks and is always watching the squirrels in the yard who tease her.
This past Saturday morning on 09/10/22 when we were getting ready for the day, Rosemary was running around doing zoomies and slipped on the kitchen floor! She slid under the dishwasher and as she stood up, the back of her right heel snagged on the bottom of the dishwasher face panel, which had a sharp edge of sheet metal (which I had no idea was like that prior to this incident). When Rosemary pulled herself to standing she managed to scrape the entire back of her leg on the jagged metal and suffered a severe injury to the back of her leg, severing her Achillie’s Tendon and exposing her bone which resulted in a horrific injury and loss of blood. Rosemary was in a lot of pain and unable to walk.
We rushed Rosemary to the local emergency veterinary clinic where she was seen by the emergency vet staff. We waited an agonizing 4 hours for care due to the heavy volume of other critical animal patients. We were able to meet with the vet and learned that the best they could do was stabilization, however the injury was so severe they told me to schedule a follow up surgery with another board certified surgeon. The immediate cost to stop Rosemary’s bleeding and attempt to reattach her tendon, close her wound, and put her in a splint was nearly $2700! This amount was a shock and far more money than I had available to me as I am just 24 years old and struggling to make it on my own and be a responsible adult.
After another 6 hours of waiting, Rosemary’s initial surgery was a success which allowed her to come home heavily medicated and in a splint. Unfortunately, the vet was not able to repair the tendon and referred us for follow up surgery and recommended AMPUTATION of her leg due to the severity of her injury! Rosemary is a strong, active, and otherwise healthy and happy dog. She will require another surgery and a lot of extra TLC to help her make it through the next round of treatments.
I cannot stress enough how much Rosemary means to me. I would be incredibly grateful for any monetary support that you could provide for Rosemary’s veterinary care so she may continue to be a part of my life and live a long and healthy life as she is my everything.
Thank you for your kindness,
Dylan.
