Help a homeless Phoenix Small Business Owner Recover After an Unlawful Eviction

About Me

My name is Robert Schenberg, a small business owner in the Melrose District of Phoenix, Arizona.

For years, I’ve saved and poured everything I have into starting my own business — a retail store, shipping center, mailbox room, and print shop that was to serve our community and provided local jobs.

But recently, my entire livelihood was taken away.

⚖️ What Happened

I entered into a lease with the original owner of the commercial property. Shortly after, the property was sold to a new owner who began interfering with my business operations and my right to earn a living.

Over time, he:

• Changed the locks on my three commercial suites without notice.

• Allowed unauthorized individuals to enter my business, one of whom I personally caught after installing motion sensors.

• Gave another tenant use of my leased space and parking, blocking customers and deliveries.

•He admits to some of my allegations in my civil lawsuit that he interfered he also claims I was to operate a community center and falsified a lease agreement to fit his narrative.

These repeated intrusions and abuses destroyed my ability to operate. I was locked out for over two months, my property held hostage, and I was left homeless — unable to access my equipment, inventory, or means to provide for myself.

Despite everything, I’ve continued to fight for justice. I filed a civil lawsuit and injunction to retrieve my property. A judge has now ordered the landlord to comply — but I’ve been given only three business days (about 24 working hours) to move my entire store belongings, shelving, displays, counters, and equipment, supplies, and inventory. Going to require professional movers to facilitate the removal and dismantling of this equipment to accommodate his timeline. I’m asking for donations your mover secure an additional space so that I can start to rebuild. This is a huge undertaking, and I cannot do it on my own. He’s left me without the resources or the ability to, but I won’t give up and I’m not gonna let him win. Help me write this injustice I’ve calculated conservatively that I believe it should take about $7400.

It was hard to tell people that I’m currently homeless but I have no choice help me fight this injustice I won’t let him win. I hope you enjoy me and donate. The landlord’s attorney has requested the removal of property as soon as possible and is only offering 3 days it seems to be an impossible task

That means I have just three days to:

• Dismantle and move industrial printers, counters, shelving, racks, and inventory

• Secure trucks and storage to transport everything

• Coordinate volunteers to help move heavy equipment and organize boxes

Without immediate help, I risk losing everything I’ve built — including my life savings and business assets.
