Help a paralyzed veteran regain his independence

Donation protected

Pictured is EH Pittman, a 10 year Army veteran with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2011-2012. During the May 20, 2013 tornado that devastated Moore, OK, EH was attempting to protect a mother and infant child at the 7-11 he worked at off 4th and Telephone rd. When the tornado hit, a wall hit EH in the back, severing his spine, shattering both his shoulder blades and multiple other injuries. Immediately after being dug out of the rubble, he refused to be taken by ambulance until the mother and child were located. Unfortunately, they did not survive. This lead to not only having to deal with the physical injuries but the mental anguish as well. EH spent 7 months in hospitals, 4 weeks in ICU and the rest at Jim Thorpe. These injuries lead to the Oklahoma Army National Guard medically discharging EH. Following the tornado, dealing with injuries and metal health, EH has faced several more devastating issues related to mother nature. Last year, his specialty fitted vehicle with hand controls, was totaled from baseball sized hail and having to replace the roof and siding of his house not once, but twice in a year. All the money he received from his truck had to go towards replacing his roof twice. With his very limited income, the totaling of his vehicle not only took away his independence but took away his ability to do the things he loves because he is unable to travel without his vehicle and hand controls. EH is an avid outdoorsman and loves to spend time with friends hunting and fishing. Any funds will be used solely to purchase a vehicle and to fit it with hand controls. As usual, any specialized medical device, costs astronomical amounts. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please help this wounded and paralyzed hero, who laid down his life to not only serving our country but to protect local citizens, regain his independence and the ability to enjoy life.

My name is Shelby "Ty" Adcock and I am attempting to raise funds to help my best friend regain his independence due to tragic events that continue to effect him and his family. I served with EH in the 45th IBCT and have become close friends over the years. All funds will be given to EH and his family to be used to purchase and outfit a vehicle with specific disability devices to allow him the ability to drive again.
