Help a Nurse Save Her Hand and Career

Donation protected
There is so much tragedy in the world right now,
... if it weren't for the likelihood of a permanent disability (losing most of the motion and function in my right, dominant hand for the rest of my life), I would feel too awkward and ashamed to put this forth...

Situation: My orthopedic surgeon at SOS has diagnosed me with severe carpal tunnel syndrome. Well past cortisone shots and splints. The longer one waits, the more the nerves die off permanently...

Good News: The surgery is now pretty quick and simple! Mostly done endoscopically and under regional anesthesia, meaning you can go home that day!

The Bad News: ... I admit it is hard to not wallow in a bit of self-pity here... I don't know one of my friends or relatives that couldn't take... maybe 2 months off from work for a simple, life-altering surgery...
Because they are partnered. Because they are loved.

Since my ex left early 2021, it's been very difficult to try to keep the fixer-upper, foreclosure home I purchased, from falling down upon my ears!
Being the size of most 10-year-olds does not help the situation.

So, it seems like my choices are just sucking it up and working with a painful, tingling, dead flounder for a hand,

Hoping I can find an RN position that requires little to no dexterity. Mm

And hoping I can actually do the job!

My parents have offered to put me up, so I can even defer some of my household bills. I figure I will tell them I'm a snowbird and I'm busy drinking dirty martinis on my yacht!

But bottom line, I am looking at zero income from now until approximately the end of March. I always try to save and be frugal. I mean, when's the last time y'all saw vacation pics of me LOL?

So, for those of you who are lucky enough to have someone who could allow you to have surgery and not risk a lifetime of disability, if you would be so kind as to throw 25 bucks into the pot, I will be able to stay with my folks and buy food for myself and my dog, keep up the basic utilities like National Grid, lest my pipes freeze, and I don't know, maybe meet YOU for a beer at Shifty's sometime if a great band is playing! You can sign my cast lol!

It doesn't seem to qualify for workman's comp and short-term disability does not seem worth pursuing after the diligent research I've done.

I consider myself so blessed that I have parents who are alive and willing to help, but like most seniors, they are living on a social security budget while the cost of everything goes up and up!
I feel bad eating an egg at their house nowadays!

So I haven't lost my multi-million dollar home in a wildfire, but I would like to keep use of my right hand for another 10 years at least, so I can work as a nurse and support myself.

Thank you very much for your consideration! I realize there is so much need out there right now, and I can live without my right hand, so I love you all so much just be happy and be kind, every day! ♥️♥️♥️
