This is Justin Hall. He is married to my niece, Erica....yes, she looks like she’s only 12.
Justin, 31, and Erica, 26, got married on January 15, 2019.
Justin is a disabled Army Veteran and Erica works as a waitress. They live in Greenwood, SC.
Everything was going fine until the first of March. Justin started running a fever. After several trips to the doctor, as well as several emergency room visits, Justin was diagnosed with viral meningitis. Getting a diagnosis is the hard part, right? Not in this case. Doctors ordered an MRI to see what was going on from the inside. Justin’s brain and spinal cord were hot spots on the MRI. He was showing stroke-like symptoms....slurred speech and paralysis of the legs. Things began taking a quick turn for the worse. Justin has to be put on a ventilator.
Local doctors decided to send him to The Medical University of South Carolina for further treatment. Once there, Justin’s fever continued to go up. He is now completely paralyzed. Doctors are now only able to detect a little movement in his eyes. Doctors started dialysis today to help remove toxins from his blood
They live in Greenwood, SC, which is about 3 hours away from MUSC. Erica is unable to work because she is trying to be with her husband. Visitors are not allowed to spend the night in Neuro-ICU. She can sleep in the waiting room, but it is no place for a young woman to sleep alone. I’ve started this page in hopes that people will help Erica be able to stay in Charleston to be with her husband. She needs money for a room, cab fare and meals. I’m setting the desired amount at $10,000 because this is going to be a long road of recovery for Justin. Will you help Erica stay in Charleston with her husband.?
