Help a New Mother in Crisis – Urgent Medical Bills
Donation protected
Dear friends and kind-hearted strangers,
I am reaching out on behalf of Paramjit Kaur, a brave mother who recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl under incredibly difficult circumstances. Paramjit came to Canada as a student, full of hopes and dreams for a better future. Like many international students, she did not have a health card and expected to cover her hospital expenses. However, things took a heartbreaking turn during labor.
Her baby’s heartbeat dropped dangerously low, and baby have to pull out by vacuum and a team of five doctors had to intervene urgently to save both mother and child. The complications didn’t end there—Paramjit suffered third-degree tears and needed stitches on her cervix. What she thought would be a $3,000–$4,000 hospital bill quickly spiraled far beyond her savings and expectations.
As per Ontario law, babies born here are eligible for a health card (source: www.ontariomidwives.ca), yet the hospital denied applying for her baby’s health card, leaving her responsible for additional expenses, including vaccinations and essential screening tests.
To make matters even harder, her husband’s visa was not approved, and she is alone in Canada with no family support. She is struggling to recover from childbirth while facing an overwhelming medical bill that will exceed $15,000.
We are asking for your support in this urgent time of need. Every single dollar counts—whether it’s $5, $10 or $20, your kindness can help ease her burden. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others who may be able to help.
Let’s come together as a community and show Paramjit that she is not alone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
