Hey, yall—I’m Rasheen.
I left my job as a housekeeper in May to pursue music in Nashville. I was blessed by my mentor with a living space to create, rest, and sit with God. Once I landed, I learned that American Idol was holding auditions at the Music City Center. I’ve been told no since I was 16. At 25, I finally got a yes! I remember leaving the audition happy and hungry. Walgreens didn’t have the cinnamon pop tarts I wanted, but Keith Urban—a former judge on American Idol—was there. This felt like a God wink.
I’m excited about this opportunity, but I definitely need support. I came into Nashville in May with a full tank of gas, but now my bank account is empty as I plan my return.
The song that started this journey is “I Believe” by Mahalia Jackson. If you believe in this journey, please consider helping with expenses that include traveling, hotel rooms, food, and future expenses if I continue on this journey. The production team for the show covers one hotel night, but I have to cover everything else. If you believe in this journey, I’d be incredibly blessed if you could support me financially!
Lastly, since this is a televised experience, I won’t be able to mention if I make it or not—you’ll have to wait until the show airs in 2026 to find out!
Thanks for all of the support and I’m excited to share this journey with you all!
