Rosaura and Esteban (pseudonyms) left Mexico for the United States several years ago, seeking a better life and greater safety for their family. Together, they raised five children—four boys and one girl—with great love and dedication, supporting them in their schooling and their passion for soccer. Suddenly, the unity and dreams of this hardworking family were shattered when Esteban was detained on his way to work and quickly deported.

At first, Rosaura was reluctant to ask the community for help; however, over the last two months, her part-time job has not provided enough income to cover the $1,600 rent or other essential expenses. Furthermore, the family owes a significant amount to the lawyer who unsuccessfully tried to assist with Esteban’s case.
