A mother in our Minneapolis community is facing an urgent housing crisis, and time is running out.
She has been working tirelessly to build a stable, loving life for her child. Every day, she shows up, pushes forward, and does everything within her power to create a better future. Like many others, she is navigating systems that make it incredibly difficult to catch up once you fall behind.
Right now, she is at risk of losing her home.
Due to past-due rent and penalties, she needs to raise $3,000 by Wednesday 4/22 to remain in her home, with an additional $3,000 due just five days later. She has been actively seeking support, but has run into barriers that prevent her from accessing multiple forms of assistance at the same time. This has left her in an impossible position.
This is not a story of irresponsibility. This is a story of someone doing everything she can and still being met with obstacles.
She is an Indigenous mother who has had to navigate layers of systemic inequity while continuing to show up for her child and her community. She is resilient, committed, and deeply deserving of stability.
No one should have to fight this hard just to keep a roof over their child’s head.
We are asking for immediate support to help her stay housed and avoid displacement. Every dollar matters right now. If you are able to give, share, or amplify, it could make the difference between this family staying in their home or losing it.
This is a moment where community care matters.
Please give if you can, and share widely.
