When Deysi and her three children–14-year-old Jonathan, 5-year-old Alison, and 2-year-old Liam–said goodbye to their husband and father on April 29 as he left for work, they had no way of knowing it was the last time they would see him walk out their door. Taken by ICE on his way to work, her husband’s absence has left Deysi struggling to pay for food and rent while supporting their three children. Compounding the challenges is the intensive care necessary to provide for 5-year-old Allison, who is recovering from two recent surgeries due to epilepsy.
