Julie is a 41-year-old mother of six children, ages 22, 17, 14, 10, 8, and 6. She is facing a challenge no parent should ever have to endure. On July 28th, Julie was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. After a partial nephrectomy to remove part of her right kidney, her cancer diagnosis was confirmed. While she is still recovering, doctors have now found two additional masses in her thyroid that are extremely suspicious for cancer. Julie is waiting on a biopsy and preparing for more surgery ahead.

Julie has been out of work since November 10th, and her family leave still hasn’t kicked in. In the meantime, she is trying to care for her six kids, keep the household stable, and manage overwhelming medical and financial stress. With no income coming in, she is terrified of losing her home—especially with Christmas right around the corner. Julie is strong, dedicated to her children, and doing everything she can to stay hopeful for them. But right now, she needs support just to keep her family afloat during this unexpected and terrifying time.
