My name is Elmira. I am a mother of five minor children, two of whom became part of our family after a family tragedy. Just a few days ago, our lives were turned upside down when my husband, Vitalii, was unexpectedly detained by immigration authorities. He has always complied with all requirements, attended every scheduled appointment, and has never posed a danger to society — yet today he is being held in immigration detention.

I am now alone caring for five children, trying to keep a roof over their heads, provide them with food, and maintain as much normalcy as possible while we fight to bring their father home.
