This GoFundMe has been created to help support Valeria and her family in laying her 13-year-old son, Ruben “Alan” Martinez, to rest.

On Wednesday, August 8, 2025, just after 8 PM, Ruben’s life was tragically cut short in Cathedral City, California, when he was shot and killed in an act of senseless violence. He had just celebrated his 13th birthday a month prior.

Ruben is survived by many who loved him, including his mother, Valeria (known online as Fat Girl Chula), her significant other, and her two young sons. Valeria and her family flew from Oklahoma to California, where Ruben had been staying with his grandmother and other relatives, so she could be present to say goodbye to her baby.

The funeral itself has been covered, but this fundraiser will help Valeria and her family with the many surrounding expenses — travel, lodging, rental car, food, and the costs of returning home to Oklahoma after laying Ruben to rest.
