Help A Mommy Keep Her Son In America & Not sent to S.Korea.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Cyrilia Lopez, I am the main parent, caregiver, provider and protector in my son’s life, there has not been a whole day, that we have spent apart.

My son’s biological father is seeking his return to South Korea (a country which is currently in state of political unrest of which I cannot guarantee the safety for/of my 6 year old son ) and the Judge has ruled in his favor at the trial as of Friday December 6th 2024.

I have depleted all of my funds and resources to hire the best legal representation that I could afford, for this trial.

This is my last chance to ensure my son’s stability, happiness and safety (of which I maintained for the last 18 months being here in Virginia )and a fair trial for custody in the United States.

I have limited time to appeal the Judge’s ruling before he is scheduled to depart in a couple of days.

While his father has vast financial resources at his disposal, he has not provided for my son, in any meaningful material, emotional or financial, way.

His contact for over a year before this case with my son, has been mostly limited to calling every one to three weeks, as if it were a scheduled business call.

The calls lasted anywhere between 20 minutes or less on each occasion.

For well over a year, there have been no birthday presents, Christmas gifts, or even any contribution towards making sure that my son has had a place to live or food to eat or even school supplies or healthcare .

Also, he seems not to have a problem retaining the best legal team in order to bring this case to court against me in his favor, in which now, I am unable to finance the appeal as I have exhausted all of my funds.

While I did have an excellent lawyer, he was only one man, facing a team of lawyers, with a short period of time to prepare and respond.

With my legal fees already in the neighborhood of $60,000, I am completely out of money, with a large remaining balance left to pay.

My most pressing and immediate concern now, is help securing the necessary funds, to retain an appeal lawyer, before my son is set to leave in a few days, or the opportunity to rectify this injustice, will be lost forever.

South Korean courts are usually unfairly biased towards the man in a divorce/custody case when a male child is involved, especially when it comes to custody matters, and if he leaves now, I will probably never get him back.

I am a mother who is simply seeking what is in the best interests of her child, as the particular legal mechanism his father used, to seek his return, does not take into consideration the best interests or the psychological effect of the child. His father has unlimited funds and I do not.

Please help me.
