My dear friends and family, there is no easy way of writing the whys and what brings me to this place of need, but I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t think I wouldn’t receive the help and support I needed from those who love and care for me.

On August 16th, what I thought was a regular visit to the doctor to get my results of a check up would change my life entirely.

I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer, as I heard the words coming out of the doctor I laughed because I thought it was a joke. For 3 days I could not process the results and I finally broke. I cried and I accepted, I have been given the news no one ever wants to hear. I have been through challenges but this has to be by far a life changing experience. I am grateful for my family’s instant support and for the medical community who have given me hope and with a surgical procedure called a hysterectomy I will be given the opportunity to live a life with care and be treated under doctors supervision. Although, I will not be able to conceive anymore and my chances of menopause will increase and come sooner, This cancer will not stop me from fighting each day, my perspective sharpened and the meaning to life just got a lot bigger. I have a daughter who needs me everyday, I am not ready to leave without a fight to be with her.

My medical treatments are expensive, the time off work will be for 6-8 weeks putting me in a financial stressful burden. My surgery requires a large amount of copay that I will need to pay. Post surgery care will be needed, and in home care will be necessary. Overall, the expense is way out of what I can afford.

I understand life is hard and we are all fighting a battle of our own. I am asking for whatever your heart desires to donate even if it’s the smallest amount.
