Hello,

My name is Michi, and I am a mother of 3 beautiful children and a recent heart surgery patient. Like many, the pandemic took a toll on us. I had to leave my job because school was closed, and I had no family in the area to help with my son during the closure. My job put me on leave, and I relied on unemployment to get us through the year. During that pandemic, I also became pregnant with my 3rd child, a beautiful baby girl, but many health issues arose. I have sickle cell, and this pregnancy took an unexpected toll on my body. I recently was told I had a leaky heart valve and needed heart surgery ASAP. I just returned to work when schools reopened, and my daughter could get into daycare, but when the doctors gave me this news, I again had to leave my job. There is no more unemployment, and my savings are gone. My heart surgery (on 1/28/22) was a success, but I will be recovering and out of work for a few months.

It feels strange to ask others for help, but I know we all need a hand sometimes, and if we don't ask, we don't know what we can receive. So I'm hoping to raise this money to help with household bills so that my children can continue their everyday activities and reduce my surgery's impact on their lives.
