Mother, son, and dog escape abuse & living in car

“We can all come up if hard times- some faster than others. Finding yourself, your teenager and your dog living in your car wasn’t what you had in mind a few weeks ago. But in the blink of an eye, that’s where this family landed after leaving an abusive situation.
The mom of this family reached out to us, one of us was the foster mom to their beloved dog, King. She wanted to know if we could help him. But we’d like to help more than just King.
We were able to secure boarding for their dog and a few nights in a hotel for mother and son - but they’ll need much more to get back in their feet. We’ve set them up with some local resources to assist them as they transition through this tough time, but the feeling of your car payment being covered, food on the table plus a few more nights in a hotel is priceless for some Peace of mind.
Mom starts a new job in a week - but we’d love to help keep them in the hotel, and away from sleeping in their car like they have been. Since local shelters aren’t accepting openly due to the covid crisis- their car is their only other option.
We know times are tough for many, and no donation is too small. We’d like to raise $2000 to help them secure a little more time in the hotel room u til she can get her first paycheck in May.
