This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. I am a mother to two amazing daughters who mean everything to me. Over the past several months, life has taken a very painful and unexpected turn for our family. About four months ago, I lost my grandfather unexpectedly. Before our family could even begin to heal from that loss, my grandmother passed away soon after. The grief of losing both of them so close together has been overwhelming and has affected me deeply in ways I’m still trying to process.

During this difficult time, I also lost my job. Since then I have been applying for positions constantly and doing everything I can to get back on my feet, but finding work has been very difficult. Because I’m not originally from Alabama, I don’t have a large support system here, which has made this situation even harder to navigate. Right now I’m facing the possibility of losing the things my girls and I rely on every day — including our home and our car.

I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help like this, but I am doing everything I can to keep stability in my daughters’ lives while I continue searching for work. Any support — whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply a kind message — would mean more to us than I can express. The funds will go toward keeping a roof over our heads, maintaining transportation so I can continue job hunting, and covering basic necessities for my children while I work to rebuild. My goal is not just to get through this moment, but to stand back up and create stability again for my girls.
