My name is Alyssa, and I just recently became a single mom to my son and my daughter due to domestic violence between me and my daughter’s father/son’s stepfather. It was eight years of physical and verbal abuse, and it got so bad this past year that a family member ended up calling the police in July, and he was arrested. We have a no-contact order in place until February 2026.

Since our court date, he has left me in an incredibly hard financial situation as I’ve now become solely responsible for all of the rent, the bills, groceries, car payments, etc., on top of my two kids and the five elderly animals we’ve shared. I lost my long-term job a few weeks ago that we both worked at due to this entire DV situation. I’m applying for jobs daily and going to interviews, but in the past week, my car got repossessed and I’ve been served an eviction notice.

I have a DV advocate, and they’ve been trying to find me assistance through their programs, but they have had zero luck, and I’m running out of time. I have 10 days to get my rent and the payment to get my car out of repossession before it’s sold and me and my kids have nowhere to live. I don’t have any other options due to having very little family that lives close to me at all. I’ve tried to hold off on doing anything like this, but I’m desperate for any kind of help.
