Hi everyone, A few weeks ago my life changed very suddenly when I experienced sudden hearing loss in my left ear. After multiple tests and treatments — including steroid injections directly into my ear — I was able to regain about 10–15% of my hearing back. I’m incredibly grateful for that small improvement, but unfortunately it still leaves me with severe hearing loss in that ear. More recently, doctors have also noticed some hearing loss starting in my good ear, which has made everyday communication even more challenging. As a mom of two young kids, hearing what’s happening around me is incredibly important — from conversations to simply being aware of sounds in our home. Right now I often miss things on my left side, struggle with conversations in noisy environments, and have difficulty following discussions when multiple people are talking. After exhausting medical treatments, my doctors and audiologist have recommended that the next step is hearing aids to help amplify sound and improve my ability to hear conversations and everyday noises. Unfortunately, hearing aids are rarely covered by insurance, and the system recommended for me is a significant expense. I waited until I finished trying every medical option before asking for help, hoping my hearing would recover more than it did. Now that hearing aids are the next step, I’m hoping to raise funds to help cover the cost and move forward with the support I need. If you’re able to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. Even small contributions or simply sharing this page can make a huge difference for me and my family. Thank you so much for your kindness and support during this unexpected journey. With gratitude, Janeen
