My name is Michelle. I am a friend of Dylan’s. I am setting this up for her in hopes of getting her the help she needs!

She is back in the hospital for a surgical wound clean out due to her incision opening up and will hopefully be discharged by Friday, on IV antibiotics at home. She had only been at her job 11 months and was one month shy of qualifying for short-term disability. They are holding her job until August, but she will not receive any disability payments while she's out. In addition to her regular bills she also has copays twice a week due for physical therapy. Any help is very much appreciated.

Dylan was in a dirt bike accident on 5/18. She was going about 45mph when her helmet (that was too loose) caught the wind. The mouth piece went over her eyes, causing her not to be able to see which then caused her to veer off the road and wreck. Doctors keep telling us they were shocked she wasn’t paralyzed with the extent damage to her spine.

She broke 4 vertebrae in her spine (had spinal surgery which fused 8 vertebrae together), total of 5 broke ribs. 2 on one side high up (rib 1 and 2 which is close to your neck just about) then on other side 3 ribs. She came in to the ER with 2 small pneumothorax. (Which means both lungs were partially collapsed) along with 2 lung contusions. Her knee also suffered some damage to the joint which caused them to operate on her knee.

On 6/23/25, she was readmitted due to the bottom of her back incision being opened. They did a surgical “wash out” to make sure there was no infection and then closed her back up again. As of 6/25, she is still In the hospital and does not have a discharge date yet.

Dylan has been unable to work since the accident on 5/18. Her job doesn’t offer short term disability/FMLA to employees that have been there less than a year. She has been struggling to pay bills/ car payments on time since she has been recovering. Please help in any way if possible to help this momma and her 5 year old daughter out.
