Help Mohammed and Rawan rebuild hope

My name is Laura MacCarald and I am a Certified Nurse Midwife in Ithaca, NY, United States. It has been my privilege to get to know this lovely young family. Husband and wife Mohammed Ghazi al Najjar and Rawan Musabeh are among the many whose lives have been upended by the violence in Gaza over the last year, and they are also my friends. Please consider helping them. All funds raised will be transferred directly to them via PayPal to be used for food, medicine, clothing and shelter, and hopefully to begin to rebuild their lives. In addition to Mohammed, Rawan, and their sweet baby girl, Mohammed also supports his elderly parents and two teenage sisters. Before the war, Mohammed was a lawyer and Rawan worked in a medical lab. They had a home, and all the hopes and dreams of any young family. Now they are fighting for survival.

On that dark night, I was at home, surrounded by my dreams and aspirations. Our home was our safe haven, where I worked tirelessly to build a better future for myself and my family. But in an instant, everything changed. The missiles of war did not distinguish between the stones of our home and our dreams. Everything was destroyed before our eyes, leaving only rubble, the smell of smoke, and the pain of loss.

I lost my home, but it wasn’t just that – I lost my job, my security, and my sense of stability. Everything I had built over the years collapsed in seconds. Now, I find myself displaced in my city, jobless, homeless, and without a normal life. My dreams have become nothing more than a longing for peace, stability, and a place where I can start over.

Despite all this, I have not lost hope. I know that we need support to rebuild our lives and start over in a safe place where we can work and achieve our dreams."
