I apologize in advance in asking for help but my family and I have hit an obstacle we can't overcome by ourselves. My name is Jon and I've been a paramedic for 21 years. I've dealt with more than my fair share of financial woes but now is the time to reach out and ask that the community, both general and first responder, help out a family in need.
We've been dealing with COVID the same as everyone else. My wife and I had it in March of last year complete with the post-COVID blood clots and respiratory issues that have become common place with those affected by the virus. Unfortunately Christina has also developed severe anemia and diabetes that require a good deal of money to treat and maintain medications.
We were doing okay however until the bank corrected an error over several months of overpaying us by a small amount totaling almost $1000. It was our fault for not noticing it but the money taken out all at once has crippled us financially.
We have three children, Sage, Jack and Nova. They are the best thing to ever happen to us and it worries me to the point of not sleeping that they may not have the security of food, shelter and medication for their special needs. I've never been in this position before and it frightens me.
I'm asking for help out of desperation. We're down to the last bit of free cash we had from our limited savings despite existing on the bare minimums needed for a five person family. The goal of $1500 would take care of the overdraft we currently have and give us a small amount of breathing room so we can catch up on rent and pay basic utilities. It's a lot I know, but anything would help.
Thank you for your kind attention. I thank you in advance for your generosity.
