Our hearts are heavy as we share that May has recently been diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. This news has turned her world upside down, and as she begins this difficult fight, she needs the support of her community now more than ever.

May is an incredible woman a devoted single mother to her 9-year-old son, who is her entire world. She is also a loving daughter who spends much of her time caring for her elderly mother, always putting others before herself. May is the kind of person who shows up for everyone whether it’s helping a neighbor, supporting families, or working with children in the community. Her kindness, warmth, and generosity have touched so many lives. She truly is a ray of sunshine to everyone who knows her.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.

As May begins treatment, she is facing not only the physical and emotional challenges of cancer, but also a significant financial burden. One of the medications that is crucial to her treatment costs $16,000 and is unfortunately not covered by the Canadian healthcare system. This life-saving medication is the primary reason we are turning to crowdfunding we want to ensure May has access to the care she urgently needs without delay.

In addition to this, May will be navigating time away from work and the ongoing costs of supporting her son and caring for her mother. Our goal is to help relieve this financial pressure so she can focus fully on her treatment, healing, and being there for her family.
