My sister, Summer Corley, is genuinely what her name suggests. She is pure sunshine in anyone’s life that knows her and has a heart of gold. She is also the loving mother of two beautiful girls and an adoring wife to her caring husband. Those who know her know that she is incredibly thoughtful, caring, kind-hearted, and giving to others.

            She has been battling breast cancer for the past five years, and recently, it has metastasized, and doctors told her it spread to her liver and lungs. Her oxygen levels were so low she was admitted to the hospital, where they put her on oxygen and had to drain fluid off her lungs. She was discharged and had to remain on oxygen for about a month. She recently underwent chemotherapy, and her doctor had to stop her treatments because she had a severe allergic reaction to it. She had several close calls and was almost hospitalized again.

            However, she is a fighter and a firm believer in miracles. Through many prayers, God has now made it possible for her to be off oxygen, and she sees God working in her healing journey in amazing ways. Due to her life-threatening reactions to chemotherapy, she is seeking alternative treatments that will not likely be covered by insurance. She lives in a small town that doesn’t have a cancer treatment facility, so she and her family have to travel to another state for her treatment.

           There are many unknowns with the cost of her upcoming alternative treatments and the rising gas costs. It is my hope that with the funds raised, she will not have to worry about affording the cost of life-saving treatment. I pray that she will instead be able to focus on healing and spending time with her husband and young daughters.
