Please help support this beautiful family living in war-torn Ukraine.
My name is Laurel Murray Katz, and I am raising funds on behalf of Dmitriy Potomka Mikhailovich, his wife Anna Vladimirova, and their young son Vadim Potomka, who are currently living in Kyiv, Ukraine. All funds raised through this fundraiser will be sent directly to Dmitriy and his family in Kyiv to support their safety, housing, health, and basic living needs during the ongoing war.
For more than four years, Dmitriy, Anna, and Vadim have lived under constant fear, uncertainty, and the ongoing threat of ballistic missile attacks in Kyiv. What many people only see in headlines is their daily reality — air raid sirens, underground shelters, financial instability, disrupted work, interrupted sleep, and the emotional exhaustion of trying to survive while still holding onto hope and normalcy for their child.
Despite everything they have endured, they remain deeply loving, resilient, hopeful, and grateful people. Dmitriy loves his wife and son more than anything and continues to hold onto kindness, optimism, and love for his country even in unimaginable circumstances.
This fundraiser is intended to provide both immediate relief and long-term stability for the family. Donations will go directly toward:
• Helping the family maintain safe housing and pay ongoing household bills and debt in Kyiv
• Maintaining Dmitriy’s underground workspace/shelter so he can continue working as safely as possible during attacks
• Renovating and completing Vadim’s unfinished bedroom to provide him with a safer and more stable home environment
• Supporting food, transportation, clothing, and other daily living necessities
• Covering medical and health-related expenses for the family, who have experienced ongoing stress-related illness and weakened immunity during the war
• Paying veterinary expenses and care for their sick cat
• Helping Dmitriy rebuild and stabilize his furniture business so he can continue supporting his family financially through the uncertainty of war
Every donation, no matter the amount, will be sent directly to Dmitriy and his family in Kyiv, Ukraine, and will make a meaningful difference in helping them maintain safety, stability, dignity, and hope during an unimaginably difficult time.
Dmitriy has never asked anyone for help. He carries these burdens quietly, with dignity and strength, while doing everything he can to protect and care for his family.
Thank you for reading, caring, and supporting Dmitriy, Anna, and Vadim.
With love and gratitude,
Laurel Murray Katz
