I’m reaching out with a heavy heart but also hope that we can come together for someone who has given so much to others.

As many of you know, I lived in Brentwood, LA, for over a decade before moving back to New York this past September. My journey to LA began in 2011 when I was at my lowest point, fighting for my life in inpatient treatment for an eating disorder. It was the beginning of a long road to healing, and while there were many who played a role in my recovery, there are two people I credit with truly saving my life: one who helped me initially in treatment and my incredible therapist, Deborah Kaminsky, who walked with me for six transformative years afterward.

Deborah wasn’t just my therapist—she became my anchor, my guide, and a beacon of hope when I felt like I had none. Her wisdom, empathy, humor, and unwavering support helped me rebuild my life piece by piece. She has this rare ability to truly see people, and she cares so deeply, extending her love and kindness far beyond her role as a therapist.

Now, Deborah needs our support.

Earlier this week, she lost her home in the devastating Pacific Palisades fire. Her home was more than just a place to live—it was where she saw her patients, helped countless others heal, and created a warm, welcoming space filled with her signature touches of love and care. While her home wasn’t one of the Palisades mansions, it was beautiful, meaningful, and a reflection of her incredible spirit.

Deborah is a proud mom to twin daughters, a fierce advocate for her family and community, and one of the most resilient people I know. She’s not someone who seeks recognition or gratitude—seeing her patients thrive has always been enough for her. But now, it’s our turn to give back to someone who has given so much of herself to others.
