Help Elle and her gf, a lesbian refugee couple from Algeria

Hi, I'm Jules, I'm trying to help Elle (not her real name) and her girlfriend, an Algerian lesbian couple. Homosexuality is illegal in Algeria, they were found out by authorities and tortured both physically and sexually. They managed to escape and fled to the furthest country they could go to without a visa: Malaysia. Unfortunately, Malaysia is also a country where homosexuality is illegal, and they are also unsafe there (they have already faced a lot of violence and abuse in Malaysia, and the police and local NGOs refuses to help them because of their sexuality). They have been referred to the UNHCR Malaysia (the international UN organisation that deals with refugees), but the UNHCR is refusing to take their situation as urgent and telling them it may be months or years before they are relocated.

In the meantime they need money to survive for food and housing, and they are also hoping to get a flight to another country where they could try to claim asylum (Malaysia does not recognise refugees so they cannot stay there in any case).

We are exploring all possible avenues to get them resettled ASAP so they can be safe and live their lives without fear. The Algerian authorities are looking for them, and their families too, as some family members are also being threatened by Algerian authorities to force them back into the country.
