Today I heard from a dear friend in Guatemala — someone we’ve known for about 11 years now. She’s taught my kids Spanish, celebrated Grace’s quinceañera with us (she even made the cake and provided the crinoline!), and always shown up with such kindness and generosity.Over the years, she’s built her own small business to help other maestras teach and support their families. During COVID, she even asked if my kids could take lessons from her friend who needed the income more than she did. That’s just who she is — selfless, thoughtful, and always thinking of others first. This week, she reached out asking for a loan. Her partner broke his foot and hasn’t been able to work for a month. They have a mortgage and are really struggling to stay afloat right now. It’s hard for her to ask for help, and I’m so proud of her courage to reach out.If anyone feels moved to help — truly, any amount makes a difference — I’d be so grateful. And if you’ve ever thought about taking Spanish lessons (they’re just $12 an hour!), she’s amazing at what she does.Thank you all for reading and for caring — it means more than you know. ❤️
