Help a Kind Soul in Kennett Square, PA Fight Cancer

Hi friends,

I have a real favor to ask. There is a beloved member of the Kennett Square, PA community who could use a helping hand right now. Because he is a proud person, and the attention might make him uncomfortable, I will keep this anonymous by not posting his name. But I can tell a bit of his story.

I have known him since 2008. He is an older yet active guy who has always been kind, gracious, and cheerful to all he comes in contact with. He has helped me with many outdoor and garden projects and is always willing to lend a hand. His sunny disposition always brings a smile to my face.

Several years back, he was diagnosed with cancer, which was treated and has been in remission for some years. He kept a positive outlook. Unfortunately, now the cancer has returned and has metastasized into some of his bones.

I do not know the exact particulars, but from what I understand the new treatments involve a periodic injection that is very expensive and not completely covered by Medicare/Insurance. But they help him to feel better and will help to slow the cancer's growth.

He relies on odd jobs and physical labor to earn money, so he must remain active for as long as possible. In the meantime, I hope that by posting this, I can raise money for him to be comfortable, receive proper care, and pay his bills.

My question is this: Why would anyone donate to a stranger? You don't even know his name or precise medical needs. My answer is because I know this person. He is a friend, beloved by the community, and this is a worthwhile cause that will truly make an enormous difference in his life. 100% of the donations will go directly to this kind and gentle man.
