My name is Derek, and I'm the founder of AHBA (A Humble Black Artist), a creative brand I've been working to build from the ground up.

Art has always been something I'm passionate about. Over time, I've dedicated countless hours to creating original paintings, customizing sneakers, and developing my artistic abilities. What started as a passion has grown into something I genuinely believe can become a meaningful and sustainable business.

However, like many people, life doesn't always go according to plan.

After losing stable employment, I've found myself facing significant financial challenges. Despite actively seeking work, exploring new income opportunities, and continuing to develop my creative business, keeping up with everyday living expenses has become increasingly difficult.

I'm at a point where I'm trying to do two things simultaneously: regain financial stability and keep the dream I've been building from falling by the wayside.

**That's why I'm reaching out for support.**

I'm raising funds primarily to help cover housing and essential living expenses while I work toward securing consistent income and continuing to grow AHBA.

This isn't about asking others to finance a lifestyle or provide indefinite support. It's about getting through a difficult chapter without losing the progress I've worked so hard to make.

I believe in my abilities, my creativity, and the potential of what I'm building. But I also recognize that sometimes determination alone isn't enough to overcome immediate financial obstacles.

My hope is that with a little support, I can regain my footing, continue developing my artwork, and eventually turn AHBA into the successful creative business I've envisioned.

Whether you contribute financially, share this fundraiser, or simply take a moment to explore my artwork, your support would mean more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to hear my story and for helping me continue moving forward.
