Help a Howard Student study in Oxford

Hello! I am Myeves Lucien, a junior Acting major from Howard County, MD. After nearly three successful years of studying at Howard University, I have been presented with a fantastic opportunity to learn from professionals in Oxford, England at the prestigious British American Drama Academy! At school, I’ve created a prudent footprint on the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts floors, working consistently on multiple productions in varying positions. I’ve been blessed to learn the organization of event planning and systemization through working as the Logistics Coordinator for the Fine Arts Council. I’ve been fortunate enough to put my touch on countless works at Howard as an Actress, Director, Assistant Stage Manager, Producer, Marketing Head, House Manager, Costume Designer, Props Master, Usher, and more. I’m also so grateful to lead Howard Players into its 116th year as the President. I work closely with many faculty members in COFA, learning through experience and diligently ensuring I am active on campus. Even outside of COFA, I continue to work my craft as a creative director in ELITE Models. Off-campus, I’ve worked with theatres such as Round House Theatre & Woolly Mammoth as an intern, Lime Productions as their Communications Director, as well as Shakespeare Theatre Company in their recent production of In the Blood. I am someone who loves creating relationships with other people and learning new things. BADA has offered me a space to learn more about the art of classical theatre through a nearly month-long intensive in the UK, the learning environment that every artist dreams of. And while this is the opportunity of a lifetime, there are only so many finances that my family and I can put into this. I am asking for aid in paying for the rest of the tuition as well as assistance for the flight fares. The program starts in July and ends in August, right before school starts again.
