Help a Homeless Caregiver Stay in Portland
Donation protected
One of my clients:

Hi!
Thank you for considering a donation. I'm Jessica Payne Whatley, a trans caregiver in Portland, ME. I'm raising money to secure housing in the city so I can continue caregiving and counseling to underprivileged individuals (typically the homeless, disabled, elderly, or veterans).
I am homeless myself, and just received word that the shelter at which I stay is closing for renovations on the 18th. I have nowhere else to go. I'm hesitant to leave the state as I get great healthcare here, and Portland has multiple opportunities for secondary jobs to help me continue to pay bills in the future.
It was my intention to earn the money myself slowly, while staying at the shelter, but the news of the closure caught me by surprise. If I can hit the goals as defined, I could afford rent and a deposit for a month. If I cannot hit the goals... Well, it's better to be homeless with something as opposed to homeless with nothing.
Anything helps, and will be used wisely. Please consider helping me on my goal to continue helping others, and thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Jessica Payne Whatley
