Help a Homecare Worker Stay in her Home!
Donation protected
My name is Florence Hurita and I am raising funds for a proud union member who is facing eviction after a wrongful termination.
Teena Lerios has been a dedicated homecare worker for over 18 years. Being a homecare worker is who she is. At the end of 2022, Teena was falsely accused of theft by the boyfriend of a former (and now-deceased) client. Teena successfully fought these false allegations through a contested case hearing process that lasted over a year. She thought her fight had ended when a final order was issued in her favor on March 12, 2024. But DHS is refusing to honor the final order and reinstate Teena’s homecare worker provider number.
Because DHS's decision to refuse to honor this final order Teena has been denied's her livelihood and the income she has used to support herself and her family, Teena is now facing eviction and imminent homelessness on October 3rd. We are hoping to extend this eviction a short time while we raise funds.
Please help us keep Teena in her home and please share this link!
