Jeanette Dempster, going to World Transplant Games Germany
Donation protected
Hello friends, supporters, and fellow believers in the power of second chances!
I am reaching out for your help in making a dream come true. As a 73-year-old heart transplant recipient (2018), I have embraced every opportunity to honor the gift of life through sport. After competing successfully at the Canadian Transplant Games this past summer in Ottawa, I now have the chance to take it to the next level at the World Transplant Games in Dresden, Germany (August 17-25, 2025).
This is more than just a competition. It's a celebration of resilience, a tribute to organ donation, and a powerful way to show what is possible after a life-saving transplant..... But I need your help to get there!
The total cost of this journey is close to $10,000, including:
Flights for myself and my husband: $4,800
Accommodations in Dresden: Arranged through the event at a reasonable cost
Travel insurance: Higher due to my transplant history
Any funds collected over my goal will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
I've been incredibly fortunate to receive support from friends and acquaintances in my athletic journey, as well as for my contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Now, I am humbly asking for your support to help me represent transplant recipients on the world stage.
Any amount, big or small, will bring me closer to this goal. If you cannot donate, sharing this appeal would mean the world to me.
Thank you for believing in me and in the power of organ donation. Let's show the world what a transplanted heart can do!
