For over 24 years, I’ve served my community as chiropractor—a profession that depends entirely on the use of my hands and upper body. Due to a severe medical illness, I have lost significant strength and function in my hands and arms, making it impossible for me to safely provide patient care at this time. What began as a health challenge has now become a life-altering disability that has affected every aspect of my work, independence, and ability to provide for my children.
An Important Update
First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has donated, shared, prayed, or reached out. Your support has carried my family and me through an incredibly difficult season, and I am deeply grateful.
I’m sharing this update because recent medical findings have significantly changed the timeline and scope of my recovery. I’ve been diagnosed with severe cytomegalovirus’s that require ongoing, weekly medical care. Unfortunately, this means healing will take much longer than originally anticipated.
At this stage, my quality of life has been profoundly affected. Simple daily tasks—getting dressed, putting on shoes, and getting out the door—require substantial effort. While I continue to stay involved in my practice through communication and administrative responsibilities, I am currently unable to provide any hands-on patient care.
Because of this, I have not taken a paycheck in nearly five months. Every available resource has gone toward paying my employees and covering essential practice expenses to keep the office running. At the same time, medical bills continue to accumulate, and many remain unpaid.
This situation has taken a significant emotional and mental toll. I am facing concerns I never imagined—fears about losing my home, my vehicle, and my ability to provide stability for my children. Despite doing everything possible to hold things together, the reality is that I need help.
Our original goal was $100,000 to cover medical treatment, living expenses, and to bridge the gap until I can safely return to work. We are incredibly grateful to have reached $45,000, but donations have slowed while the need remains urgent.
Your support will help with:
• Ongoing weekly medical care and treatment
• Outstanding and upcoming medical bills
• Basic living expenses (mortgage, utilities, car insurance)
• Food and daily necessities for my children
• Maintaining stability while I heal and work toward returning to patient care
This support is not just financial—it provides the time and security needed to focus on healing and being present for my children. Every donation, share, and message of encouragement truly makes a difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us during this incredibly challenging chapter.
With gratitude,
Jeffrey Kaplan
