Help a Healer Get Back on the Road
Donation protected
My dear friend, and former nanny of my two boys, car was just repossessed, and she needs help — urgently — to get it back. Between towing, storage, and overdue payments, the cost is steep, and without a car, she can’t get to her clients, her own medical care, or even the basic necessities of daily life.
She’s a therapist, living with chronic illness, and someone who pours so much into her community — especially queer and trans folks who often struggle to access affirming care. She offers low-cost, accessible therapy because she believes in care that doesn’t leave people behind. But right now, she’s the one in need — and like so many helpers, she struggles with asking for help. She’s shared with me that she fears she’s not “worthy” of support. That she’s supposed to be the one giving it — not receiving it.
The truth is, she’s been doing everything she can to stay afloat — covering rent, medical expenses, and the most urgent bills — carefully choosing where her limited income goes each month. The car has been one of those things she’s had to push back, just to keep her head above water. But now it’s at a breaking point, and she can’t do it alone.
She left a job that was exacerbating her health issues and has been slowly and steadily building a sustainable private practice. But building a caseload takes time, and in one of the most expensive cities in the country, even surviving is a full-time job.
If you’ve ever known someone who always shows up, who listens, who believes in justice and mutual care, that’s who she is. Let’s show her she doesn’t have to carry this alone. Let’s help her feel held the way she holds others — with tenderness, dignity, and love.
Here's a breakdown of the $2,208 she needs:
$1,487 in (4 months of) Overdue Payments
$245 in Late Fees
$475 Repossession Fee
Any additional funds raised will go toward next month's car payment and/or additional bills that have been put off.
Every dollar helps and every share matters. Thank you for helping us get her back on the road.
