Hello Everyone taking the time to come to this page, thank you. I wanted to tell you a little about my story; I worked at the Sugar Barge Waterfront Bar and Grill starting in May and due to unforeseen circumstances they had to close their doors until next year, giving all of us employees only 2 weeks notice to find jobs or other income. In those two weeks I was given two shifts to make money for my son, and keep us a float until I found a job. Sadly, the owners of the Sugar Barge didn’t care too much about the situation they left me in. My father is passed and my mother and I don’t speak due to her drug issues. I can’t get EDD, and have no other source of income at this moment. I’ve had countless interviews, am on multiple apps such as Bluecrew and Shiftsmart with only one job on the 19th. I’ve been in this industry for 12 years now, and with how many restaurants closing it’s hard to find work when so many people are also trying to find a job. I know it’s no one’s job to help me, or my son with gas, groceries or bills but at this point I didn’t know what to do. I appreciate anything, and am honestly more embarrassed for myself than you can be for me right now. Thank you again for reading this.
