Help me, my mom and brother move out from a bad living situation!
My mom, younger brother, I need money to move out of our awful living situation and start a new life.
The situation:
Hi everyone, I am running a go fund me to help my mom and I pay rent and move to a new apartment. My mom's boyfriend, who's been living with us for 20 years, doesn't want to pay rent anymore. Because of this, we can't pay our bills because we rely on his contribution.
My goal is to raise money so we can pay off our past due rent and move to a place that is more affordable so we can be independent. Our living situation has been toxic for years, but it's just recently that it's gotten worse.
Our mental health has really been suffering through all this, especially my mom's. It's really hard not knowing if we can pay the bills. I was helping pay rent and the bills but I lost my job last week.
What we need the money for:
I'm hoping that we get around $5600, which should cover:
-our past due rent for the past two months: $2469
-a deposit/security: we're looking for a place that costs $1300 × 2 months deposit = $2600
-$530 for moving supplies and movers.
So far we've raised $1842 between gofundme and other donations, which leaves a goal of $3758. Both my mom and I are amazed and touched by how generous people have been. I've been thanking people and planning how to pay it forward eventually.
Moving would be life changing for us. My mom needs to start a new life without having to depend on her boyfriend. I want her to be happy - she deserves it so much. She does so much for me and my brother without even thinking about it.
So basically, it would be great if you can share with your networks, social or otherwise. My mom and I really need a fresh start and the money would be incredibly helpful! I just want my mom to be safe and happy and I'm doing as much as I can to help that happen. I've been busy all weekend contacting people to see if they can share. Thanks for reading
