Hello, my name is Devin, and I’m reaching out with a humble heart as a hardworking father doing everything I can to provide for my wife and our six amazing children.

We recently made a big move from Ohio to Texas with the hope of giving our family a fresh start. I had been working hard and saving up, and we believed we had secured a rental home. The landlord had approved us, told us everything was ready, and said we could move in as soon as we paid the deposit and first month’s rent.

So we packed everything into a moving truck, left behind what little we had in Ohio, and made the long journey south.

But when we arrived, the landlord suddenly asked us to fill out another application, delaying everything and putting us in a difficult spot. With no home to go to, we had to rely on temporary housing, which quickly drained most of the money I had saved.

We’ve since found an apartment and managed to scrape together enough to pay the deposit and get moved in, but now we’re facing the next hurdle: we’re $1,000 short on the rent for the upcoming month.

I’m working hard every day to support my family, but with the unexpected costs from the move and the temporary stay, we’re falling behind just as we’re trying to get on our feet.
