Hi friends and supporters,
One of our Han Training community members is preparing for top surgery—a life-saving and affirming procedure that they’ve been waiting years to access. This individual, a trans person who has asked to remain anonymous due to safety concerns, has spent years navigating long waitlists and red tape to get as much of the cost covered by insurance as possible. Now, they're finally scheduled—but they are still $4,546 short of what they need to undergo surgery.
They are also hoping to raise a little extra to cover essentials during their recovery, like meal delivery, post-op supplies, and basic expenses, since they won’t be able to work for several weeks. As a full-time student juggling three part-time jobs, every dollar makes a difference.
Why This Matters
This person experiences intense gender dysphoria and has been fighting for this care for a long time. Top surgery will be life-changing. It will allow them to feel at home in their body and reduce the emotional and mental stress they live with every day. The Han Training community is a source of strength and support for them, and we have a chance to show up in a meaningful way.
Mutual aid is powerful. In a world where gender-affirming care is under attack and still out of reach for many, your donation is not just financial, it's solidarity.
From this individual: "I am so grateful for any amount you are able to contribute! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you to the Han Training community for being there for me. I love you!"
How Funds Will Be Used
Funds will go directly to the recipient to:
1. Cover the remaining $4,546 medical fees not covered by insurance
2. Help with recovery essentials like food, transportation, and basic bills during their time off work
We’re managing this fundraiser with full transparency. The Han Training team will withdraw the funds and transfer them to their personal account.
