Hi everyone — thank you for taking a moment to read this.

This fundraiser is for me and my dog Smokey. Earlier this year I developed a serious pelvic health issue and have been out of work on medical leave since June. My income has been reduced to 60% while I’ve been trying to get answers, manage pain, and stay afloat.

During this time life hit from every angle — medical bills, unexpected home expenses, and now an emergency surgery for my dog. Smokey suddenly became sick last week and is currently undergoing exploratory intestinal surgery for a suspected obstruction. This emergency has tacked on an additional 10k to my credit cards on top of about 30-35k in other charges and loan.

I’ve always worked hard and taken pride in being independent. I bought my first home at 23, worked long hours in engineering, and built my life through grit and sacrifice. I’ve never asked for help publicly like this — but between health issues, reduced income, and now a major vet emergency, I’m in a tough position.

My goal is:

Get through this surgery, get back on my feet, and keep my home long enough to stabilize without losing everything at once. If i can't make something work soon I'm looking at having to sell many of my things and my home to pay off debts, as with full pay my monthly expenses now outweigh my income.

***UPDATE*** Smokey did great for a 10yo and is now resting at the hospital, they will monitor and update me next on whether he will be good to come home after 24hrs.
