Help A Grooming Project Graduate Hit The Road

I am Christine Banks, a 2016 graduate of The Grooming Project , a Kansas City nonprofit that teaches struggling parents the trade of pet grooming. For the past four years I have worked as a professional groomer in grooming salons around Kansas City. In early 2019, I enrolled in The Grooming Project's salon management program , which gives graduates full-time experience managing a grooming salon and learning how to open and operate a business. For the past year I have used everything I've learned to prepare a thorough business plan in preparation for opening my own mobile grooming business, a long-time dream of mine. 

When the pandemic hit, I at first thought that my dream would need to be put on hold. But mobile grooming has become an even more popular service than it already was. Mobile groomers I have talked to in the Kansas City area are booked out months in advance, and many are not taking any new clients. I have decided to continue with my initial plan to open my business, Royalty Mobile Pet Grooming, this fall, when grooming is at its peak due to the upcoming holiday season. 

I am in the final stages of securing a loan to purchase my mobile grooming van, but the interest will be high, in the range of 8-12%. The goal of this crowdfunder is to hopefully reduce the amount of the loan I will need to take out at this high interest rate.
