June 1st I had to have a heart procedure done due to the fact I had clogged arteries and a bad aortic valve. June 12th my son went to the hospital He had been throwing up for a week He was 45 years old. 2 hours after you got to the hospital they called and told me they needed my permission to put a PICC line in him which I did not know what that was but I said go ahead and do it. 8:00 in the morning they call me and told me they were sending him to Westchester hospital that he was very sick that he was dying. I was in total shock I am 70 years old with a heart problem and they're telling me my son is dying. They said he had pneumonia with sepsis to his whole body. Just a day before he was at our local hospital who said he had food poisoning. 10:00 a.m. they called me and told me he was too sick to transport and was being admitted to medical ICU they didn't think he was survive the night. He made it through Saturday Sunday Monday and Tuesday. When I saw him Tuesday he looked terrible. I knew he was not going to last much longer. He could barely speak and he said Mom I love you. And he said Mom I'm trying to get better. I said I know you are honey. I had an aide and she had to be home by 3:00 so I was getting ready to leave him and he said Mom don't get mad at me when you leave I want to go to sleep for a very long time. And I didn't think anything of it and I said okay honey and I'll see you tomorrow I love you. 2:00 in the morning they called and told me they had to put him on a ventilator. They told me to get there at 10:00 a.m. I arrived there and I couldn't leave the condition my son was in. I knew right away he was gone and they just wanted me to have some time with him. After 2 hours I said please give him his last rights and pull that ventilator out of him. And they did and I went to the side of his bed and closed his eyes and rubbed his hair and his face and said you'll be okay honey you can go be with Daddy now and Grandma and Grandpa and they'll take care of you. I was devastated. I didn't even have enough money at cremate him I had to borrow for my sister. I had to borrow from someone else to pay my July rent. I lost half my income to the house. We split everything right down the line. He was a disabled adult child. After my procedure on June 1st my angina went away. July 17th I got called to the office to renew my lease for August 1st. Where I live it's supposed to be 30% of your income. Imagine my surprise when they told me they weren't lowering my rent because they only do 30% when you first move in. And they were still counting his income. I was in shock. I started getting more chest pains again only in a different area. I ended up going to the heart doctor and finding out that the stress the anxiety and the shock of losing my son all piled into one big pile and I now had Microascular angina. The doctor gave it a name. Broken heart syndrome meaning my heart is not doing good. And now the little blood vessels in my heart are starting to blow up. That is why they call broken heart syndrome. I have to get a three-dimensional colorized CAT scan on September 4th to see just what's going on with the blood vessels and they need to give me some medication to keep the blood vessels from popping because if they pop I am on a blood thinner and I will die. It wasn't so much my son passing away that did this to me it was the shock of what the landlady did to me with my rent and that I do not have enough money to cover my bills. I owe my sister $1,200 I owe a friend $919 for my July rent. I don't have enough money to pay my rent even for the month of September. I can't do this. I don't like asking for money but I don't know what I'm going to do. If I sell my car I don't have a way to get to the doctor. I'm at the doctors at least twice a week. I don't know what to do except ask for some help at least to get my bills caught up. I'm not asking for much just enough that I can repay what I borrowed and maybe get my rent paid for September so I can get out from underneath this Rock get rid of the stress that's causing my chest pain right now. I appreciate anything that somebody can donate. Thank you.
